Description and Requirements
The Senior Manager, Software Testing will take the lead on software testing efforts in support of implementation of WCG applications and/or client initiatives. Provide direct management, oversight, guidance, and provide support to individuals and teams who plan and execute test efforts for a variety of software products and applications The Senior Manager, Software Testing will be responsible for implementing testing procedures of WCG computer applications in alignment with applicable WCG guidelines and regulations.
The Senior Manager, Software Testing will have a passion for quality, whilst building out the team and will be responsible for strategic conversations between Product Management, Product Development and Regulatory Compliance teams. The person should be able to manage, mentor and coach team members, manage testing processes and methodologies and define performance evaluations for other testing team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and relevant software testing domain experience.
- An internationally recognized testing certification highly preferred.
- Agile/Scrum certification highly preferred.
-12+ years’ experience in a software development environment preferably 2 years in the Pharmaceutical industry
-10+ years’ experience in a software quality related role, with at least 2 years’ experience in a validated industry in accordance with the 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
-Outstanding leadership skills and at least 5 years’ experience managing a team/teams of test engineers focused on defining, driving and implementing product testing initiatives across a large development organization.
-Experience managing both onshore and offshore testers is required
-One or more professional certificates to supplement formal education highly preferred
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent analytical skills, ability to plan and organize.
-Experience of testing within an agile environment is a plus
-At least 8 years of experience & In-depth experience with manual software testing process and knowledge of automated testing processes and tools.
-Experience in collaboration testing activities in an onshore-offshore model.
-Excel Macro Scripting
-Helix ALM (formerly Test Track) or similar Test Management tools.

-Ability to effectively work with Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance team members.
-Close familiarity with most of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

-Proven leadership skills, with ability to provide cross-functional leadership throughout the organization

-Work with Product Managers to understand requirements, estimate and plan the test execution strategy of features in an Agile development environment
-Hire and retain strong talent; interview and hire test team
-Actively motivate, coach, mentor, train, and provide leadership to test Engineers by conducting regular meetings, periodic assessments and receiving feedback from the team
-Contributes to thought leadership on testing tools, test automation, methodology, performance testing and practices to support quality assurance in a continuous delivery model;
-Establish standardized estimation techniques and delivers test estimates for validating releases and products.
-Establish, monitor and own - testing tasks/schedules and other deliverables.
-Ensure the highest level product quality experience with our software
-Lead Product Testing for multiple releases working with all functional engineering managers/directors
-Track and measure our software quality from Development Engineering perspectives
-Drive and measure effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives.
-Identify, propose and drive improvement throughout the software development process.
-Work with leadership team on executive presentations for stakeholder management meetings. Responsible for day-to-day management of the Product Testing teams related to projects. Ensure quality for project implementations. Create, implement, maintain and enhance test delivery and management of test resources, pipeline, status reporting, test plans, cases, results, and post-implementation reviews.
-Create and execute complex, multi-platform test plans and procedures.
-Participate in development processes to support software quality efforts.
-Other duties as required and assigned by the Director, Product Testing.
