We are looking for a strong manager to lead our San Francisco engineering team. You will help build and scale our product suite that leverages our vast amounts of data our partners provide. In addition to helping us make informed decisions about technology, you will also help 100,000+ businesses optimize their business. You will be at the heart of Womply’s game changing mission to disrupt the SMB space. This is a senior role (and we mean it) with a fine blend of technical chops and management skills. You lead from the front and help otherdevelopers around you grow and shine. You are equally comfortable debating about priorities with Product Management as determining which technologies to use to build a scalable product.

What you get to do every day:

  • Lead, mentor, and drive Engineering resources to deliver high-quality code for Womply’s product
  • Build and foster a high-performance culture, where you provide your team with the tools and motivation to make things happen
  • Partner with product management to deliver front-office solutions for our SMB customers.
  • Collaborate with VP of Engineering on technology strategy
  • Contribute to a high-quality code base, setting the standard for your fellowengineers
  • Facilitate regular team stand-ups, resource planning, and code reviews
  • Participate in cross-functional planning and reviews with key stakeholders
  • Interview, hire, and onboard developers who will raise the bar
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to direct reports
  • Write performance appraisals and empower your engineers in their own career planning
  • Manage escalations, production issues, and product deliverables for our customers

What you bring to the role:

  • Motivating and inspiring your teams to excel in all aspects of engineering
  • BSCS or equivalent and 8+ years in a comparable role defining and developing beautifully simple software
  • A MINIMUM of 5+ years of experience directly managing, mentoring and hiring Software Engineers
  • Previous experience managing full-stack development teams developing modern interactive web applications with demonstrated hands-on experience
  • You can spot and attract amazing talent and have a passion for being a mentor
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and to execute, set and define solid goals
  • Problem solver with a mindfulness of ease of use and simplicity
  • Experience working with large-scale production systems, data platforms / warehouses
  • Knowledge of industry best practices using object oriented design and design patterns, being mindful of sustainability and supportability in everything you do
  • Must be well-versed in AWS and have delivered cloud native applications
  • Able to bring clarity to problems through structured thinking and effective communication
  • Current or past experience in SaaS, Fintech or Payments and Billing engineering role
  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages Java / Python / Ruby.
