General Description Responsible for the creation and execution of the Public Relations strategy. This role is responsible for maximizing media exposure in a positive manor. This role will serve as a point of contact for PR programs and activities with frequent interaction with Samsung HQ, US Carriers and other third-party agencies. Managing teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and control rather than development; short-term operational/tactical responsibilities. Typically accountable for providing sufficient information for higher autonomy to make recommendations on budget and policies and for medium-term planning.
Manage the Public Relations function and staff. Develops the Public Relations strategy for SEA corporately and for each product group based on overall branding direction. Interacts with Public Relations agencies; reviews releases and edits and routes public relations releases to the appropriate product groups. Functions as the media's direct contact for media relations. Participates in the planning and execution of branding efforts. Regularly attends meetings with product groups to discuss business plans, new products, etc. Develops news releases and speeches for executive public relations meetings. Coordinates and attends media trips and presentations to assist in coaching executives for media interviews. Prepares, maintains, and provides corporate background materials and company information for both internal and external use. Develops content for SEA's corporate website. Perform special marketing projects and PR support as requested. Has responsibility for the operational performance of the department. Directs the resolution of complex operational and organizational problems.
Bachelor's Degree with 12-15 years of directly related experience is required. Prior experience in corporate public relations and media exposure required. Prior experience in the telecommunications industry preferred. Knowledge of media channels and contacts and executive coaching required. Prior Public Relations leadership experience required. Must have demonstrable advanced writing, speech preparation, and editing skills. Ability to develop speeches, public relations information, and media presentations using a variety of PC business, presentation, Internet (Html), and multi-media graphics and communication applications.
