Key Responsibilities:Drive efficiency and continuous improvement for a multi-shift distribution center that encompasses safety, inventory control, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping. Lead and encourage the development of the management team and employees by demonstrating a proficiency in operational efficiencies and employee engagement. Set high standards and goals for the distribution center team and ensure that they are achieved. Accountable for P&L performance of assigned business function.
- Manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.
- Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines.
- Utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously supervise operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves advanced operational issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, marketing, accounting, or product development.
- Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, or budgets for growing profitability or improving services. Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations concerning activities, expenses, budgets, or other items affecting the business and its performance that includes metrics, insights, and actionable strategies.
- Ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations.
- Identify the developmental needs of the leadership team, as well as individual gaps, and address through coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Education / Experience:- Bachelor's degree in relevant field from an accredited university required; Master's preferred.
- 7+ years of direct management experience in various areas within an automated logistics/distribution environment, including 5 years' experience in a formal department leadership role. Leadership experience with multi-functional teams is preferred.
- Experience with managing WM KPI metrics using analytics skills; people development; budgeting; business process improvement; and Lean principles required.
- Experience with and intermediate solid understanding of MS Office products and Warehouse Management Systems (Blue Yonder preferred)
- 5-10% travel may be required.
