Smartsheet is looking for an extremely talented Senior Manager of Video Content Strategy to join our Content team. The Senior Manager of Video Content Strategy is a digital storytelling expert who leads a team of video producers and external agencies in the innovative development, production, and distribution of multimedia stories. The Senior Manager of Video Content Strategy reports to the Director of Content Strategy and will drive our company’s overall video strategy and creative vision; manage the video team; coordinate content priorities; and drive innovative, high-impact enterprise brand journalism. This is a full-time role, based in Smartsheet HQ in Bellevue, Washington.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a storytelling vision and strategy for Smartsheet video content
  • Coach and support the team of producers to develop a consistently high-quality stream of video content of varying lengths and formats tailored for our website, social media, brand events, and otherchannels, aimed at attracting and retaining an enterprise audience
  • Oversee the video production process by both in-house and agency partner teams; write and provide feedback on scripts and rough cuts, ensure alignment with brand messaging and voice, enforce deadlines and serve as quality control on all videos
  • Oversee team on in-house projects, such as live-streaming of internal events, training and other videos as needed
  • Work with the video team and business stakeholders across the company to evolve new ways to advance company goals with video content, to push the creative envelope, and raise the bar continually on quality of content
  • Partner with video agency to oversee concepting, scripting, shooting, and editing execution of high-value customer evidence, “vision,” and product videos
  • Support a team culture in which data is used routinely to measure, report on, and optimize performance of our video content, inform story angles, experimentation and future planning
  • Oversee relationships with independent videographers, editors and producers who will be hired occasionally on a contract basis to support large events or efforts
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Content Strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in broadcasting, journalism, communications, new media, business, or a related field or equivalent experiencerequired
  • Five years' experience producing and directing B2B video content, with a record of leading a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of content and marketing in a multi-platform environment
  • Demonstrated success in planning, budgeting, and staff leadership; demonstrated accomplishments in working collaboratively with peers; significant experience developing and communicating strategies for content objectives, organizing and managing multiple priorities, and in developing and managing projects
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, motivate, develop, and lead others, resolve conflicts, and ensure the achievement of results through effective performance management
  • Experience with digital media platforms and programming approaches with new models of content creation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to persuade and make effective presentations before external and internal audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building and fostering key internal and external business relationships, as well as the ability to lead and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • In-depth knowledge and passion for emerging trends in visual storytelling, technology, and work-management issues
  • Demonstrated ability to have fun
