Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Purchasing is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives, procurement policies and procedures and overall cost optimization. The individual in this role will partner with business leaders throughout the organization to facilitate optimal management of vendor relationships in an effort to obtain best-in-class services while appropriately managing costs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience influencing key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with new vendor additions and the complete purchasing process and building strong relationships across the business.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Purchasing’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with senior management in each department to develop and manage strategic sourcing plans across the company to drive quality and value;
  • Coordinate with each department to participate in strategic negotiations with vendors with a focus on win/win solutions;
  • Select and manage vendors, vendor relationships, assesses vendor capabilities, develop alternative sources, and evaluate vendor performance by tracking key performance indicators such as service level compliance, quality conformity and cost;
  • Oversee the development and quality of all RFIs/RFPs to ensure internal customer satisfaction and compliance with all required policies and procedures;
  • Conduct periodic analysis on purchasing practices, including cost analysis, to determine where processes could improve and to identify areas for consolidated purchasing and/or improvement;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive contractdatabase;
  • Approve and manage the addition of new vendors;
  • Develop policies, guidelines, systems, and best practices;
  • Conduct supplier reviews;
  • Report to management the status of progress, cost savings and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance;
  • Manage spend to ensure efficiency, developing and implementing cost savings measures where possible;
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and business units to assist with purchasing decisions and ensure compliance with purchasing processes and procedures; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired
  • 7+ years related experience
  • CPP, CSCP, or other relevant certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, with a proven track record of creating organizational value and a passion for achieving results
  • Demonstrated ability to create a holistic contract framework (from new contracts to renewals to organization of existing contracts)
  • Ability to work in concert with business partners and key stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret contracts and related documents.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills
  • Proven Project Management experience and skills
  • Sense of urgency
