Job Summary: The primary goals of this position is to develop/lead a team that delivers an exceptional experience for our clients; both internal and external regarding the installation of new submeter systems within ground up construction.

The Sr. Operations Manager will apply experience and knowledge to provide training, guidance, and development to their employees who support our clients. He/She will act as a role model for the department by maintaining a high level of professionalism, answering questions posed by our clients, the submeter team and/or other departments and will utilize his/her skills and talent to forge strong, collaborative partnerships both internally and externally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day management for the installation process for new submetering systems within ground up construction to deliver each project on time and within the established budget
  • Leads team of Project Managers on best practices in working with general contractors and subcontractors to motivate them to complete the installation of new submetering systems on time and within the established budget
  • Evaluates opportunities to drive profitability within each job by either negotiating costs, minimizing the expense or influencing our sales team to increase margin at the time of sale
  • Manages capacity models to align client experience, workload and number of Project Managers needed to enhance the client experience
  • Reviews and approved each proposal to ensure alignment on pricing to establish uniform pricing delivered to our clients to the best of their ability
  • Develops and maintains sales forecasting activities
  • Responsible for the oversight on scheduling, completing and releasing the work performed on a project
  • Serves as escalation point of contact for submeter install operations
  • Manage projects to deadline, working collaboratively with clients and internal departments to accomplish objectives and communicate status updates effectively to all stakeholders
  • Communicate consistently in a clear and concise way, and adapt to client-specific needs by providing options/alternative solutions
  • Organizes data into report formats which can be presented to internal and external clients
  • Supports processes for invoicing, billing and other financial services that will ultimately drive efficiency and support our clients
  • Forge strong relationships and collaborative partnerships with new and existing client contacts, as well as internal stakeholders and Submeter team members
  • Collect any necessary due diligence from the client, including prior biller information and submeter information (typically needed for a retrofit project)
  • Support VP, Energy Management in becoming a resource to educate/sell existing clients about energy management products and services
  • Assist with special projects as requested, including custom reports and special data requests and/or explanations

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in people development
  • FP&A, Construction Management or Project management experience preferred
  • College degree or relevant experience required
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time and preparing executive level presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and written/verbal communication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills, and a high level of attention to detail required
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment dealing with complex issues
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and in a group
  • Must be deadline driven, and goal oriented
  • Must have an affinity for troubleshooting and problem solving
