POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Materials is responsible for strategic and tactical oversight of current and future material locations. This is a cGMP position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

Staffing & Oversight:
  • Oversee selection, development, and motivation of qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills.
  • Work with Materials Manager and Leads to ensure all schedules are properly staffed.
  • Strategically plan and staff for future workload to meet or exceed productivity performance standards.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to staff in compliance with cGMP, safety and company corporate quality governance. Ensure compliance of staff with all SOPs controlling the GMP activities of the team.
  • Coach and mentor staff in all aspect of their job performance and career development including training, feedback, rewards and disciplinary action.
  • Work with Materials Manager to oversee cycle counting and physical counting of inventory.
  • Maintain Financial control of inventory and support quarter and fiscal year end activities.
  • Demonstrate proactive planning to mitigate risks.
  • Generate the daily inventory support schedule.
  • Actively perform and oversee daily receipt and delivery to manufacturing.
  • Be available on-call or have a trained and qualified designee.
  • Serve as SME for audit activities (internal & external)

New Facility:
  • Oversee and drive all activities for Warehouse related to moving to new facility
  • Scope and master new activities associated with move
  • Build an organization and staffing levels to support two facilities
  • Manage the move of Materials activities to the new building

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Life Sciences or related field) with 7+ years, or Associate's degree with 10+ years, or GED or equivalent with 10+ years of experience working in a cGMP environment in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry or equivalent. Must possess solid working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with inventory control, material receipt, and material transfer.
  • Experience in high volume and fast-paced materials and cleanroom environment. Experience working in warehouse environments.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience within a regulated environment that is frequently audited by FDA, ISO and other internal and external Agencies.
  • Strategic thinking and planning experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous buyer/planner, supply chain experience or manufacturing.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to gown and gain entry to manufacturing areas.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing physical duties.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to cover first shift schedules to provide direction to staff and/or training.
