Job Summary

Manages the strategic direction for teams responsible for developing and delivering IT solutions for the business and customers; provides project management direction and supervision for project teams delivering IT solutions; creates reliable and repeatable processes for software quality assurance in Agile, Waterfall and Test-Driven Development Methodologies; implements and manages strategies around managed services and staff augmentation with multiple testing partners; manages financial resources of the company while ensuring the development of high-quality, low-cost technology solutions aligned with customer and business needs and establishes relationships with employees and key stakeholders (internal and external)


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Creates and drives a strategic direction for software quality assurance within the Division that includes best practices in quality assurance frameworks and sourcing


Leads and organization in the management and execution of software quality assurance and test strategies and activities across a multi-location testing team that includes internal and partner teams


Develops and executes a strategy for alignment, control and effective execution of quality assurance goals within system environments, including Development, Integration, System Test and Production environments; identifies gaps within environmental controls and fills them


Directs management activities and initiatives at the subdivision level and may direct management initiatives at the division level; supervises managers and supervisors, as well as consultants and professional staff


Oversees services provided to multiple internal and external customers; focuses on one or more business segments of moderate to high complexity


Communicates frequently with division heads, providing feedback and recommendations and interacts with executive management, providing strategic recommendations


Directs the development and implementation of integrated IT initiatives to support business strategies


Provides technical and business leadership and vision, and leads the development of standards and decisions regarding changes to systems/applications


Negotiates complex contracts and manages vendor relationships to maximize business value


Creates an integrated information technology strategy/plan to support multiple business unit strategies, which may include analyzing new emerging technologies and translating implications of the new technology into an effective integrated IT strategy for multiple business units


Provides enabling technologies that make it easier for customers and suppliers to do business with the enterprise as well as increase revenue and profitability


Oversees business unit centers of excellence information systems activities while balancing technological and operational needs with financial and marketing needs


Integrates high quality, low cost services across multiple businesses and customers


Allocates resources (budget and people) and directs the development and delivery of training for internal and external IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems


Performs other related duties as required



Education & Experience

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree and eight years of relevant technical and business experience (may require in-depth knowledge of one or more industry) or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Five years of managerial experience in a complex business environment involving multiple business issues


Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and the flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels (internally and externally)


Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget


Certified Project Management Professional or equivalent professional training (preferred)
