The Sr. Manager, IT Business Partner is a strategic technology partner responsible for working with the business to align technology direction to business goals, driving business value. The Sr. Manager, IT Business Partner will define key processes and requirements, create technology roadmaps, act as a subject matter expert for technology-related processes and systems, and provide technology leadership and project management for implementation projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with business to define and document key business processes and requirements
  • Define and document data flow, data exchange, and data storage requirements
  • Define and document business intelligence requirements for various constituents
  • Manage projects to implement technology solutions according to ACADIA’s software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Manage external vendors to deliver technology solutions, capabilities and support
  • Capture, document and prioritize requests from business partners
  • Manage application lifecycles, ensuring all changes are controlled, tested, validated, and communicated
  • Perform and/or facilitate system testing
  • Facilitate resolution of Tier 2 and 3 application issues
  • Manage application version change control
  • Create technology roadmaps to align with business priorities and drivers
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with business partners
  • Work with business partners to create business cases for technology solutions
  • Identify and foster best practices
  • Write and/or review work instructions (WIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Facilitate vendor contract processing


Bachelor’s degree in information systems. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered. A minimum of 8 years progressively responsible experience implementing systems, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on commercial systems, G&A systems, quality systems, and/or drug development systems.

Must possess:

  • Experience defining and documenting business processes and requirements
  • Experience project managing packaged application implementations applying a standard SDLC
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle a variety of task at one time
  • Prior experience defining and implementing data exchange
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic IT partner
  • Understanding of and experience with different types of data and processes
  • Understanding of computer systems validation processes
  • Experience managing vendor partner relationships and contracts
  • Skilled at clearly conveying in-depth knowledge to all levels within, and outside of, the organization
  • Skilled at creating a cooperative team environment
  • Experience working with development, infrastructure, and application support staff to ensure successful application implementation and seamless transition to support
  • Experience in preparing and presenting basic software training information
  • Able to objectively evaluate situations and make recommendations for changes considering overall project demands
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Skilled at preparing and presenting IT project proposals to senior management
  • Experience with systems, such as: sales force automation (SFA), customer relationship management (CRM), master data management (MDM), business intelligence tools, HR applications, financial applications, websites


  • Understanding of and experience with different types of pharmaceutical business data and processes
  • Experience with pharmaceutical systems, such as: clinical applications, quality systems
