Our Opportunity:

The Senior Manager, IT Asset Management will lead the IT Asset Management Team as part of Schwab’s Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS).  The Senior Manager will lead the team to enable key corporate priorities by controlling costs, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating security & financial risks related to software and hardware assets.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Manager will lead IT Asset Management team members to set and execute a strategy for managing IT software and hardware assets.  Establish and maintain a culture of control, compliance, and focus toward defined business objectives.  Establish a best in class Asset Management practice that has deep knowledge of software/hardware vendor contracts and license terms & conditions, drives cost and usage optimization programs, establishes sound governance practices and promotes and contributes to the continuous improvement and best practices of an Asset Management Program.  Establishes and oversees policies, standards, procedures, roles and responsibilities for ordering, securing, deploying, reclaiming, and disposing of hardware and software assets.  Drives strategy and manages implementation of enhancements to existing products. Monitors client needs, competitor moves and marketplace trends to identify and pursue new product opportunities  

What you have:

5+ years demonstrated practical experience in a software audit, software consulting or ITAM leadership role. ITIL, CSAM, CHAMP, and/or CISA certifications (preferred). Knowledge vendor software contracts, licensing terminology, and software licensing rights, especially for major software vendors (IBM, Oracle, CA, Microsoft, Adobe). Experience establishing Hardware Asset Management and software maintenance management practices.  Must be able to interpret, analyze, and summarize contracts, and evaluate pricing & licensing proposals.  Understanding of key physical & virtual open systems and mainframe hardware data attributes (processors, cores, LPARs, etc.). Experience managing an IT Asset Management team of 10+ employees. Essential Skills Ability to analyze software discovery data and configure/create discovery tools/scripts. Proven results in software cost avoidance/savings. Advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with Flexera preferred.  Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with internal contacts and vendors, and to build positive, productive relationships with Business and Technology leadership Strong communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership skills.
