Implementing Lam’s IP strategy, program, and policies in a cross-functional team environment for Lam’s Fremont based Etch business.
Partnering with and being the go-to counsel for Lam’s Fremont based operations for all aspects of IP especially patents, trade secrets, and copyrights/ open source.
Managing Lam’s patent applications for your business organization in the US and internationally, including the PCT, Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan.
Occasional adversarial – litigation, oppositions, etc. – work including risk assessments and IP evaluation.

Essential Skills: You must…


Be a registered patent attorney, but not a single-skill patent prosecutor. We are looking for a multi-faceted IP counsellor.
Have excellent interpersonal English-language communication skills, written, oral and presentation.
Have excellent legal and analytical skills coupled with a good business sense. A strong technical background is essential.
Able to distill and communicate the essence of complex IP matters.
Be hard-working, dedicated, and motivated with a strong team-oriented approach. We are too close a team to accommodate ‘lone wolves.’
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines. Able to handle pressure.
Have experience supporting cross-functional teams and supporting/developing IP programs in a corporate environment.
Able to partner with business organizations to solve complex problems collaboratively.
Be creative, innovative, accessible and approachable.
Not have ‘sharp elbows!’ We are a co-operative group and will not tolerate people who aren’t team players.

Qualifications


6+ years of experience, J.D. or equivalent from a top law school, U.S. Patent Bar and California bar or admission to the bar in another US state with existing plans to take the California Bar.
Background or experience in the semiconductor equipment and/or semiconductor industry with an ability to understand advanced semiconductor deposition technologies.
B.S. in a semiconductor related discipline: Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
