The Senior Manager Human Resources will play an integral role in helping the Company achieve its ambition by driving the Growth Game Plan and Purpose into action and in doing so, build a stronger Newell Brands to ensure that the Company’s success is sustained for future generations. In this role, the Senior Manager Human Resources, will be focused on executing strategies to attract, engage, develop, reward and retain a diverse, highly-qualified and culturally-aligned employee base across the globe. In this role, the Senior Manager Human Resources will be responsible for delivering the Growth Game Plan and Purpose, though, driving employee engagement across the entire employee lifecycle and fostering a culture that will enable the Company’s growth ambition.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they are developing a broad knowledge of HR policies and practices and the capability to influence without formal authority by building positive working relationships and partnerships. The candidate will need strong facilitation and coaching skills along with the ability to balance being analytical and fact-based with being people-focused. Flexibility and the ability to balance the needs of very different groups are required.


  • Serve as a talent solution provider and business partner
  • Lead change management efforts and initiatives across teams
  • Build and foster partnerships with the Leadership team as well as their top leaders, hiring managers and the Global Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence to execute the company’s workforce plan and ensure the effective sourcing, evaluating, securing and on-boarding of key talent for the global teams
  • Partner with the Global Talent Acquisition team to build and foster an employment brand that attracts key talent
  • In partnership with the Company’s Talent (COE), accelerate the Company’s performance culture by ensuring functional partners set clear and meaningful objectives for their organization, aligning rewards to performance, providing role clarity, driving impactful learning and development opportunities and holding regular functional talent reviews that will inform succession planning and career pathing across the organization
  • Oversee the compensation, performance appraisal and objective-setting initiatives for the organization’s employee population including annual and mid-year reviews, manager feedback, coaching and facilitation of performance management training
  • Provide coaching and support to the organization’s employees on performance improvement plans, conflict resolution and career development
  • Enable effective movement of internal talent by focusing on continuously improving the experienceassociated with the internal candidate process
  • Partner with the Total Rewards Center of Excellence to deploy compensation, benefits and recognition programs that will drive a performance culture within the organization
  • Drive an efficient and effective Human Resources operating structure within the global teams
  • Align critical key talent roles to ensure the achievement of desired business outcomes
  • Provide effective talent-related decision support through the use of timely and meaningful data, analysis, metrics and dashboard
  • Provides clear and effective communication
  • Demonstrate managerial courage and provide timely and actionable feedback to leaders
  • Resolve issues quickly and directly to maximize performance, and change behaviors
  • Drives continuous improvement across the Human Resources team
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to educate team members and HR colleagues on the intent and proper use of roles within the HR model



Key Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or University degree
  • 8+ years of experience focused on strategic human resources business partner support
  • 4+ years of experience leading teams
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively leading teams, coaching, building partnerships and effectively managing and resolving challenges
  • Ability to analyze and assess organizational needs and provide solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal savvy
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce desired outcomes within tight timeframes
  • Ability to work with and connect with all levels of employees
  • Strong planning & organizing skills
  • Initiative & follow-up, including a strong sense of autonomy
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to deliver outstanding results through the HRBP/COE/HR Operations model
  • Proven use of analytics/WFA in issue analysis and resolution
  • Consumer Products industry experiencepreferred
  • PHR/SPHR certification
  • Experience to include success in corporate and hourly environment
  • Demonstrated use of social network tools to engage and share content with HR community to drive global alignment
  • Ability to lead or partner withothers to drive global initiatives for function
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and decisions at more senior levels than current role simultaneously
  • Proven history of delivering both the business and HR mandates
