The Product Engineering Manager is expected to be a cross-functional focal point from operations team, and leads driving LitePoint’s new products through verification, compliance testing, production testing and quality gates. This includes but not limited to, developing, and executing project plans leading to manufacturing ramp, identifying product and production issues and opportunities, defining correction and prevention paths and their implementation, ensuring an open communication loop between all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring that material pipeline, capacity, resources, COGS roadmap, and field support readiness are in place for a successful manufacturing ramp and an excellent customer experience.
This position is responsible for:
Product ramp plans and on time delivery of key milestones.
Manufacturing and test processes development leading to on time and quality product delivery.
Test coverage documentation and implementation ensuring coverage to specification and any other requirements for products application/use cases.
Leads manufacturing function during cross functional team meetings during the development phase and leads the manufacturing gate milestone completions.
Development of a technical team capable of identifying and driving closure to all design and process issues with a focus toward customer satisfaction, factory efficiencies, and desired cost improvements.
Recruits and develops a technical team with an end goal of removing and minimizing R&D dependencies once products are launched into pilot and subsequent production.
Is responsible for technical detective work and quick recovery from all product related issues. This requires making, driving, qualifying, and effectively releasing design, parts, and process changes.Develops and improves factory and field quality processes. Also leads factory and field training of new products and processes.
Works and collaborates with corporate quality resources and ensures LitePoint products meet all the required regulatory and compliance requirements.
Manage, maintain, improve, and expand as needed a team of technical NPI engineers.
Manage process and test development, including test algorithms, test SW development/automation, and ensuring effective test coverage for ultimate product field quality.
Manage product bill of materials, product part numbers, and all required procedures.
Responsible for ongoing maintenance and enhancement of Tableau and LitePoint’s production database.
Timely documentation and effective cross functional engagement in driving resolution of product, process, and test issues using the Jira system.
Requires a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline plus a minimum of ten years of related technical management experience including prior experience in a supervisory/leadership role. RF product knowledge is a must. Ideal candidate comes from the wireless test and measurement industry, or the wireless handset industry. Prior experience in NPI and familiarity with SPC is desired. Excellent data analysis, communication skills and reporting capabilities required. A persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort in working with detective nature of activities.
Technical experience: in-depth knowledge of RF microwave testing and trouble shooting from System level to Component level to Root Cause.
Requires solid technical engineering/manufacturing management experience, effective communication skills, self-motivation; with strong analytical and planning skills.
