What We Need

FLEETCOR is currently looking to hire a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting within our Accounting and Finance division. This position falls under our Finance line of business. This position sits in the metro Brentwood, TN area. In this role, as a key member of the finance leadership team, the successful candidate will help lead the company's Corporate Accounting Department and coordinate close responsibilities with our global subsidiaries as well as work on key initiatives relating to accounting policy and critical processes. You will report directly to the VP, Assistant Corporate Controller and will regularly collaborate with Internal Audit, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Tax and Payables, and Divisional Controllers and Business Teams.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Managing and oversight of month-end close activities, including timely review of journal entries, inter-company elimination process, accruals process, financial statement close package, account reconciliations and managing the close calendar
  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Ensuring the timely reporting of all monthly financial submissions from our global accounting teams including preparation, review, reconciliation, and journal entries relating to submission of local trial balances
  • Assisting with quarterly 10Q/10K reporting as needed
  • Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy.
  • Developing/enhancing, implementing, and enforcing accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business.
  • Working with internal and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
  • Partnering with and liaison with other departments on analyzing financial results, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives
  • Participating in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
  • Mentoring and developing staff with collaborative approach establishing accountabilities, objectives, priorities and monitoring/evaluating results

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA preferred
  • 4 to 10 years of previous experience in Accounting roles; Public Accounting is a plus
  • Strong background in US GAAP required
  • SOX preferred
  • Advanced computer skills for Excel
  • Fintech, financial, technology sector/industry experience a plus
  • Proven experience with process improvement
  • Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, well developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization
  • Ability to coordinate and work with business leaders in multiple locations
  • Direct experience working in a complex, large-scale accounting and finance environment in a high growth and dynamic company
  • Ability to meet deadlines timely accurately in a high pace environment
  • Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with the ability to see the big picture
  • The right person will be ambitious and flexible who wants to learn and grow professionally
