Continue to establish and develop the Hershey Category Management team as the best-in-class indispensable consultative partner – within two key areas within the Albertsons Companies: (1) within Corporate and (2) within each of the 13 divisions. Further develop and elevate relationships with key stakeholders within Albertsons and continue to elevate and drive category strategy, planning, and category management activities.

Develop and direct the execution of analytical and strategic work which result in top-line sales and growth; Support and assist with building the customer plan; Provide timely reporting updates to Albertsons Team and broader Hershey leadership and support through quarterly business reviews; Execute and deliver pre-event planning and enhance post promotional analysis; Maintain accountability for growing profitability and assisting the internal customer sales team with uncovering opportunities;

Position will lead a team of Individual Contributors with responsibility for Category Management activities within Albertson's Companies; Support team members and assist with delivering key projects; Recruit, train, develop and coach individuals for performance in order to develop and maintain a high performance team.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves sales and performance metric targets for assigned customers by managing and coaching a team. Facilitate communication and action between the Category Management team(s) and the Sales team(s). Communicate program feedback to the home office. Develops the analytical frameworks by which the Category Management team and CSE's generate selling stories.
  • Manage business by understanding and coaching: Syndicated and panel data analysis, factory sales (SAP), Plan-o-Gram optimization, Joint Business Planning, the Business Development planning process, development of quantitatively supported best demonstrated category and sales practices.
  • Utilize the performance management process to coach and develop team members throughout the year, through the effective use of the performance appraisal process and performance records. Handle administrative duties: Weekly T&E expense reports, Performance management, yearly input to budgeting process.
  • Utilize the Internal Selection and Succession process to fill openings in a timely manner. Prepare and maintain bench strength to contribute to the Hershey Company talent pool.
  • Leverage business intelligence tools like Planet Retail and Kantar.
  • Deep understanding of market place trends in and outside of the channel
  • Travel Requirement: 35 – 40% travel. This position requires a moderate level of travel, working in field coaching team and developing other ABS divisions across the U.S.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required; MBA preferred

Experience: Minimum 6 years' experience; typically, 8+ years progressive professional experience with: 3+ yrs Consumer product sales & strong analytical experience; experience as a Category Consultant and/or key strategic account CSE preferred.
