In this role, you will be responsible for all application development and automation activities for our Managed Services organization. Specifically, this role will:

  • Support, operate and extend the capabilities of the Managed Services application toolset
  • Build automation for Managed Services organization to improve and automate processes, and reduce cost
  • Build automation for CDW’s larger services organization as needed
  • Build and support a capability to provide DevOps support for Managed Services hybrid-cloud customers
  • Be an active leader in extending our services capabilities tied to automation and orchestration throughout the CDW services organization

Key Areas of Responsibility

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Understand customer environments and business needs via customer interaction and partnering with the customer success organization
  • Meet periodically with customers through sales opportunities, quarterly reviews, and especially during support issues
  • Track, monitor and report Customer Satisfaction Performance Measures, including Customer Satisfaction Surveys.

Leadership and management:

  • Lead the transformation of our organization to a full DevOps mindset
  • Attract and retain staff to support the business needs
  • Building and motivating effective teams
  • Delegating responsibilities to appropriate team members
  • Performance management:
    • Consistent feedback, both positive and negative
    • Assessment, both subjective and objective
    • Coaching/mentoring
    • Individual Development Planning (career path, improvement opportunities, training)
  • Work closely with peers to achieve company, department and personal goals
  • Willing to take calculated risks to meet customer needs and department goals.

Process Management:

  • Deliver Operational Framework and Standard Operating Procedures to staff and ensure adherence through Quality Assurance process.
  • Review Operational Framework and Standard Operating Procedures on an on-going basis to identify process and organizational structure gaps.
  • Continuous Service Improvement utilizing using key metrics


  • Regular staff interaction, both written and face-to-face.
  • Customer interaction, both written and face-to-face.
  • Work collaboratively with other groups and managers to successfully manage customer's expectations and environments.

  • Plan and budget
  • Negotiate/purchase hardware/software when appropriate

Other Responsibilities

  • Develop strong internal relationships with key stakeholders and subject-matter experts across the organization


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or Business
  • 7 years’ experience in IT Service Industry
  • Three (3) years leadership experience
  • Three (3) years technical experience in development

Other Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience with automation and orchestration in AWS or Azure in either a large IT organization or with a Managed Services provider
  • Three (3) years leadership experience
  • Three (3) years technical experience in development
  • Application Modernization experience
  • Experience with large multi-cloud migration projects
  • Experience with infrastructure management and orchestration tools (Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CD tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker)
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced ITIL certification(s)
  • Process engineering and optimization experience
  • Professional Consulting Experience
