The Senior Manager of Analytics will provide strategic guidance through in-depth analyses and reporting to key stakeholders across Editorial, Audience Development, Digital Leadership and more to help achieve revenue and traffic goals for Vogue.com. They will partner closely with these teams to develop and apply insights with the goal of deepening the brands’ relationship with the reader. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for evangelizing the use of analytics for insight-based business decisions, both strategic and tactical, while serving as the analytics subject matter expert to various levels of business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be someone who is highly quantitative, but also nimble and creative with the ability to think critically and influence the decision-making process through data and testing. Expertise with digital analytics tools is a must, but we are also looking for people who are self-starters, curious, motivated, and entrepreneurial.
Reports to: Director, Audience Development, Analytics & Social - Vogue
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with brand stakeholders to develop and execute data-driven audience growth plans across all content distribution platforms
- Measure the performance of audience development initiatives and optimize them according to business goals
- Apply data mining and information gathering techniques to identify and interpret patterns and trends in visitor behavior on the website
- Identify new content growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insights
- Develop and maintain robust traffic forecasts to support various key stakeholders within the organization
- Work closely with digital leadership to determine and meet KPIs and ensure that they align with revenue strategy
- Build A/B and multivariate testing plans to boost engagement and conversions on site
- Be the voice of the reader by synthesizing data and providing analytics-driven insights
- Serve as a senior member of the brand’s digital team, partnering with aud dev, editorial, product, tech and social leads on strategy and prioritization
- Work cross-functionally with brand site editors, publishers, product development, and sales & marketing groups to identify opportunities, execute brand initiatives and maximize customer monetization
- Participate in ongoing decision-making processes concerning the maintenance and improvement of data integrity
Required Skills:
- 4-6 years of experience with a digital advertising agency or online marketing, advertising, publishing, fashion or retail organization with a thorough understanding of online business models and strategies
- Hands-on experience with reporting and analysis for a major web analytics tool like Google Analytics
- Experience managing digital audience acquisition programs or working with team to develop programs
- Digitally savvy, creative and experimental in the approach to problem solving, with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience with a multivariate testing tool to optimize marketing and user experience initiatives
- Ability to clearly articulate and present initiatives to creative and technical teams alike
- Familiarity with competitive measurement services like comScore Media Metrix or Nielsen/NetRatings
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts
