The Senior Manager, Accounting Operations provides leadership and direction to a team of finance professionals and managers with primary responsibilities around Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and monthly customer Billings, while maintaining a strong controls environment and driving process improvements within the organization. Candidate demonstrates proven success in driving operational efficiency in transactional based environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

  • Responsible for maintaining a high-performing team including mentoring and training staff members and identifying cross-training opportunities
  • Lead other finance managers to accomplish department development goals
  • Inspire team members through example, meetings, and work ethic
  • Work with team members to establish annual goals and objectives
  • Interact with customers and vendors to facilitate financial transactions
  • Demonstrate agility with competing projects and priorities
  • Lead and nurture a work culture with a positive attitude that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives
  • Monitor and analyzes department work to develop more efficient processes and procedures while allocating scarce resources to high priority initiatives
  • Lead implementation of relevant sections of strategic financial projects, including upgrades and implementation of ERP Software
  • Provide support for periodic financialaudits for site development and accounts payable
  • Responsible for supporting management initiatives including process standardization and simplification, financial analysis and research, and reporting
  • Ensures compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
  • Collaborate with other department in accomplishing strategic objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Seven or more years of experience in the accounting/financialreporting areas
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience
  • Proven success in transactional based environment

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA, MBA, or graduate finance related degree
  • Microsoft Great Plains experience or other large ERP systems
  • Previous experience with Six Sigma or other process-improvement oriented programs
  • Previous experience managing customer collections and payables

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • A strategic thinker with an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financialprocesses
  • Familiarity with process mapping and a variety of transactional based automated tools
  • Professional agility
  • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with automated accounting systems
  • Must have the ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate willingness to partner across internal departments with competing priorities
