Support corporate and distributed systems hardware and software for Linux, including all aspects of the storage architecture, operating systems, system installations, upgrades, backups and administration, disaster recovery, security configuration and patching, system connectivity and system interoperability
Analyze technology architectures and systems performance.
Maintain System lifecycle components such as licensing, Capacity, system inventory and end of life timeframes.
Work with Security and other teams to develop minimum baseline security standards.
Architecture and design of new software or hardware components for infrastructure including Cloud services.
Develop and create hardware, software, and related technology roadmaps for the system life cycle
Analyze and resolve technical system and performance tuning issues
Evaluate overall system requirements for performance, availability, interoperability, utilization and reliability
Communicate project status to project leader and manages interdependencies
Contribute to identifying resource requirements
Coordinate and oversee vendor maintenance personnel and installations
Maintain and update system procedures and documentation
Leverage in-depth technical knowledge of operating systems, servers, storage and networks
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of installed technology for assigned technology infrastructure area(s)
Keep current with trends and best practices in information technology; identify own development needs and seek out development opportunities
Cross trains co-workers
Participates in a 24x7 “On-Call” rotation and off-hour “system maintenance” activities
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, related field, or equivalent experience
Five+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience maintaining at least 200 systems or equivalent experience
IBM AIX Experience a plus
Experience in automating, patching, maintaining environments and maintenance windows
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications, expert knowledge and experience with system automaton tools (Ansible or Puppet) and scripting knowledge (Shell or Python).
Experience with VMWare or linux running on a hypervisor.
