Matrix Medical Network seeks an experienced senior attorney to join our corporate Legal Department to support our growing health services business. Reporting to the General Counsel and primarily responsible for: ensuring compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and regulations.  Utilizing expertise and experience with Medicaid and Medicare, corporate practice of medicine requirements, state scope of practice and collaboration requirements for advanced practice practitioners (Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant) this individual is critical to ensuring compliance and positioning the organization for continued growth. Responsibilities also include drafting, reviewing and negotiating Business Associate Agreements, Delegation Agreements and other commercial contracts related to medical services, as well as providing key legal support to the Credentialing and Human Resources organization. The successful candidate will also work directly with Matrix’s Executive Team and other members of the Legal and Compliance Department to provide general advice, guidance and counsel on a variety of legal, transaction and general compliance issues. This individual will be instrumental in negotiating and drafting client contracts and statements of work.  Matrix’s growing business platform will allow this individual to expand their impact and knowledge by contributing to merger and acquisition activities, as well as general corporate business matters. 



  • JD from an accredited law school and admission to one or more State Bars is required.
  • 7-10 years of legal practice, including 5 or more years handling a broad range of commercial transactions.
  • Strong analytical, communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal practice focused on healthcare compliance andhealthcare industry regulation, including Medicare/Medicaid regulations and HIPAA compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience in audit and risk management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Strong consultative and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client and vendor relations skills
  • Ability to interact successfully with senior leaders (internal and external to the organization)

  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) is a plus.
