The Lean Consulting Group at Haley & Aldrich is growing and we are currently seeking a Senior Lean Practitioner with a background in group facilitation and Leanconstruction who can provide high-level Lean consulting services to existing and target clients in the Northeastern US.  This position can be based in any of the following offices:  Boston, MA; Rochester, NY; or Manchester, NH.  Additional consideration my be given to candidates living in cities near other Northeastern Haley & Aldrich offices.



Successful candidates will: 

  • Work collaboratively with a passionate team to support a range of clients with many challenging projects
  • Combine a mastery of Lean tools with outstanding facilitation skills to help clients applylean to process
    improvement and cultural change.  This will include learning our methods from our existing black belt practitioners, developing standard offerings, and consulting engagements with clients 
  • Help groups deepen understanding of customer value and applylean principles and tools
  • Work with client organizations to implement key elements of their lean journey
  • Guide customers to use all elements of a Lean Management System: Leader Standard Work, Visual Controls and Routine Accountability
  • Work directly with C-Suite executives to document the positive change that principle-based Lean thinking is having on the employee base      
  • Lead facilitation of small-to-large group improvement activities        
  • Prepare for, conduct and document improvement events, in either the leading or supporting role
  • Support Plan-Do-Check-Adjust (PDCA) and identify ongoing improvements internally and for clients     
  • Engage in developing business with identified existing and target clients      
  • Provide leadership and facilitation for the client system, to be highly valued by the client, and considered an indispensable member of the client's team   
  • Prepare proposals, project deliverables and summary presentations       
  • Be responsible for planning project scopes, schedules and budgets     
  • Coordinate with project teams, client representatives and external stakeholders       
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships
  • Provide client with internal and external communication guidance
  • Maintain Haley & Aldrich brand equity by ensuring proper use of tools


Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or business administration.  Master's degreepreferred; preference given to those with Lean certifications and Leanconstructionexperience
  • 10+ years professional experience, preferably in the architecture, engineering, construction or management consulting industries
  • Minimum of 5 years applying Lean principles and tools to projects; facilitation experience strongly desired
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean concepts and tools including, but not limited to: A3, kaizen, value streams, total productive maintenance, target value design, pull planning, DMAIC, root causes analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient at writing, presentations, and working with groups
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility and willingness to see projects through to completion a must
