DEA’s Ontario, CA office is seeking an exceptionally talented and experienced Senior Landscape Architect/Project Manager with experience on transportation related projectsThis role will be responsible for providing project leadership and management, project design and coordination, client & business development, and coordination of both project pursuits and project team efforts in response to client expectations.  Projects may include elements such as interchange design, project reports, visual impact assessments and structure aesthetics for clients such as CALTRANS, Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), San Bernardino County Transportation Agency (SBCTA) and Riverside County Transportation Department (RCTD).

General and specific responsibilities for this role will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design of Landscape Architecture Projects
    • Concept, Schematic, Design Development, and Final Construction Drawings
    • Strong Knowledge of Construction Detailing, ADA Accessibility, Planting and Irrigation Design
    • Plan Set Preparation
    • Technical Report Preparation
    • Specification Writing
    • Construction Cost Estimates
    • Experience with CALTRANS constructioncontract standards and design manuals
  • Landscape Architecture Project Management
    • Project Staff Management, Supervision and Oversight
    • Preparation and Monitoring of Budgets and Schedules
    • Quality Assurance and Quality Control
    • Maintaining Positive Client and Staff Relationships
  • Recognized Landscape Architecture Design Leadership and Strong Design capability
  • Business Development
    • Demonstrated Ability to Develop and Maintain Client Relationships within Markets and Regions we operate (Public and Private Transportation and Land Development)
  • Team Player with Positive Attitude
    • Willingness to Give and Receive Supervisory and Design Feedback
    • Mentor Junior Staff Regarding Client Relationships and Project Management
    • Work Effectively with Allied Professionals in a Multi-Discipline Engineering Environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years Design and Management Experience, with emphasis on local and state (DOT) agency transportation projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Registered Landscape Architect

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Positive Track Record in Southern California and the Greater Los Angeles area
  • Registered Landscape Architect in California
  • Current experience with AutoCAD / Microstation / Project Wise
