Our client is looking for a quick thinking and solutions-oriented Senior IT Manager to join our team. Working under the CTO, the Senior IT Manager will provide guidance on all technology operations. This individual will manage local infrastructure strategy and implementation with our client's IT vendors and our Information Security group. Clear, concise communication of goals up and down is key to the success of this role, as are strong organizational skills. Were looking for a candidate who can anticipate roadblocks, research solutions, present solutions to management and manage implementation. You should be eager to perform implementation from time to time and manage vendors supporting our infrastructure. You might be meeting with senior management in one moment, and then going deep with our technology team ten minutes later.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven 5+ years experience as an IT Manager or similar role
  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar or comparable experience
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise with IT systems (databases, networking, etc) and policies (RBAC, server hardening, etc.)
  • Experience supporting both Mac and Windows workstation environments, Linux server environments, and comfort with patch management and system lifecycle management
  • Experience managing cloud-based enterprise applications such as G Suite
  • Experience managing a directory service like LDAP or Active Directory
  • Comfort with OSI model and the full range of protocols from the physical to application layer (from HTTP to TCP to IP to the data link); hands-on skills and basic network and routing understanding are critical
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Solutions-oriented thinking
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Proven history of managing remote vendors effectively/efficiently

Any of the following will make us really excited:

  • Experience deploying and managing systems and software in a cloud environment like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure. Hands on skills with EC2 / S3 / Cloudtrail / VPC Management / Route 53 (or non-AWS equivalents) are very helpful
  • RHCE/RHCA, ITIL, and CCIE certifications
  • Proven track record with managing remote laptops & mobile devices with tools such as JAMF & Airwatch
  • Experience in big data and/or media and advertising
  • Experience with managed services and SaaS solutions
  • Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar
  • Please note that this role requires weekly travel to client's Long Island (Syosset) office.
