Qualified candidates must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance at minimum along with an active IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CCNA-Security, GSEC and/or Security+ CE). Multiple opportunities available in Belleville, IL! Military (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines) experience is a big plus.
Prior experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) required.
Serve as the technical expert responsible for the monitoring, operating and managing, trouble-shooting and restoring to service any of the components comprising the DISN or DRSN networks. These include data/voice communications equipment, multiplexers (such as modems, circuit switching units, data switching units, secure telephone switches and PBX’s), data terminal equipment, (such as front-end processors, routers, 3270/SNA devices) and transmission media (such as coaxial and twisted pair cables, satellite, microwave, and fiber optics both vendor-provided and government owned).
-Perform pro-active monitoring of network elements alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure.
-Accomplish this through use of network management system(s) and associated assets on a continuous (rotating shifts) basis.
-Perform fault isolation and diagnostic/assessment functions to include determination and execution of corrective action(s) on real-time basis.
-Interface with functional users as well as remote operations centers in both routine and reactive monitoring situations.
-Maintain logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
-Execute all reporting functions and data input associated with network management.
-Monitor security posture of network(s); reports suspected violations to designated authority.
-Coordinate with configuration management and implementation entities to ensure optimum dissemination of information and network efficiency.
-Perform operator level maintenance on all components/assets associated with network management systems.
-Senior levels provide functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training and quality assurance/quality control to junior personnel.
-Support senior staff as required and ensure customer requirements and project milestones are met.
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degreepreferred
-DoD security clearance required
-Certifications: IAT Level ll Security (SSCP, CCNA-Security, GSEC and/or Security+ CE)
-5+ years of relevant experience
-Experience with data/voice communications equipment is highly preferred
-Experience with multiplexers (modems, circuit switching units, data switching units, secure telephone switches and PBX’s) highly preferred
-Experience with data terminal equipment (front-end processors, Cisco and Juniper routers, 3270/SNA devices) highly preferred
-Experience with transmission media (coaxial and twisted pair cables, satellite, microwave, and fiber optics both vendor-provided and government owned) highly preferred
