The WaTech Information Security team utilizes innovative and cost-effective security measures to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications and services and infrastructure and desktop tools for Consolidated Technology Services (WaTech) and WaTech customers. The team provides Information Security program development, risk analysis, management, and consulting services. They partner with other teams, internal to WaTech as well as external, to provide guidance for secure application development, transport, delivery, and storage throughout the enterprise and beyond. The team also facilitates audit functions and provides security for thousands of endpoints statewide, managing security incident response and enabling objective investigatory activities when necessary.

What would you be doing in this role?

The Senior Information Security Analyst will participate in highly complex tasks and make recommendations and decisions that directly impact critical agency operations, logging and monitoring support, vulnerability and penetration testing and timely mitigation, incident response / investigation, and information security administration in adherence to State, Department, and Division standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

This position provides advanced Information Security support for critical security systems and services while collaborating with project managers, engineers, developers and risk analysts.

  • Utilize SIEM technology to analyze disparate data sources to detect, analyze, and respond to securityevents and investigations.
  • Monitor threat intelligence sources and news of emerging vulnerabilities or exploits to assess potential impacts and identify actions needed for response.
  • Work closely with the Office of Cyber Security SOC and CIRT partners in prevention, detection, and response activities.
  • Conduct and participate in design review processes to provide requirements and champion changes to maintain or enhance security.
  • Provide input to refine existing security policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and train other WaTech IT professionals in the importance of security while staying current in technology.

Here's what we are looking for:

  • Four years' experience working as a Senior Information Technology (IT) Information Security Specialist with expert level knowledge of security technologies such as Web Proxies, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Information Event Management (SIEM) implementation, Intrusion Detection, Incident Response & Investigation, Vulnerability Management and Endpoint Defense systems.
  • (Or a combination of relevant education and IT Security experience totaling four years.)


$80K base, Excellent Benefits Package bonus
