Senior Industry Analyst

Overview

The Senior Industry Analyst will be responsible for the development of data driven industry research and analysis reports and briefings for external publication. This position will work with analysts and other stakeholders to position and maintain superior research capabilities. This position will use quantitative techniques and methods to manipulate financial and economic data for researching issues and trends that impact key industry segments. The Senior Industry Analyst will analyze and write trend reports of their findings.

Responsibilities

Work withfinancial industry data to support development of financial industry studies.

Research and analyze industry financial statements.

Produce timely, high quality research articles to enhance superior research capabilities.

Show keen interest and follow industry, regulatory or economic changes that may influence the market.

Proactively identify areas for research, recommending ideas for articles and contributing to production of such pieces.

Perform statistical analysis of industry and economic data to perform data analysis and research.

Continue to develop a network of contacts in the financial services market (clients, brokers, regulators and prospects) utilizing contacts as a source of informal market research.

Maintain or work to develop strong analytical skills through a professional designation and continuing education (CFA, Actuarial, MBA, CLU, FLMI, FRM, etc.)

Willingness to travel up to 10%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field required.
  • MBA or MSdegree a plus.
  • 5 to 7years?experience in financial services or insurance industry preferred.
  • Math, Accounting, Financial or Economics background preferred with knowledge of financial statement analysis. Knowledge of Statutory, U.S. GAAP or IFRS Accounting Principles is required.

Skills

? Business writing required.

? Advanced Excel skills, including macros.

?Experience performing financial and/or statistical analysis.

?Experience presenting analytical findings (in writing and orally).

? Excellent communication and organization skills.

? Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively, multi-task, absorb ideas and facts quickly, while maintaining a strict eye for detail.

? Demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop relationships with internal and external teams.
