Function Overview

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Industrial Engineer opening to join our Fall River, MA Operations organization. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes Including, human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide ways/methods to eliminate all types of waste in the production process
  • Work in the advanced space, creating optimized manufacturing designs concurrent with early product development
  • Responsible for advanced process and technology development
  • Lead manufacturing system design teams
  • Drive the creation of industrial engineering related documentation to support manufacturing system design activities
  • Understands natural process cycle time for various products and the bottlenecks to the NPCT to help develop a standard approach across different production lines
  • Collaborate with plant resources to integrate the new product into existing factory master plans

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Assembly and material handling expertise (value stream mapping, standardized work, material flow analysis, etc.)
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing plant, improving operations
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of the use of advanced manufacturing techniques
  • Thorough understanding of Lean manufacturing, with an emphasis on Value Streams and Standardized work
  • Good task management skills
  • Strong process orientation (focus on how not just what)
  • Desired history of gaining cross-functional and cross-cultural alignment
  • Well-developed communications, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal and team building skills
