You will be the technical lead for all Engineering activities related to diverse Hydro Power projects in IAEN Canada. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will drive excellence by ensuring that Engineering activities are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with customer expectations, contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • Working closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions and utilizing feedback to drive the delivery of innovative improvements and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Leading and coordinating Engineering teams across various disciplines on projects of medium complexity, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Developing and reviewing standard processes, tools and techniques while ensuring that Engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Overseeing the creation of subcontracts and assisting Supply Chain in the management of subcontractors.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments and overseeing the implementation of resulting improvement and mitigation actions.
  • Preparing project engineering proposals, coordinating documents and engineering estimates and performing related Engineering risk analysis.
  • Providing technical details, costs and deliverables for Sales proposals.
  • Supporting contract managers in issuing claims related to changes in project scope, including assessing cost and time impacts as well as risk quantifications.
  • Resolving complex technical issues both remotely and on domestic and international customer sites though-out the Americas.

Your background

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or similar field.
  • More than 15 years of experience in the Hydro Power Industry, working in Engineering or site commissioning with Controls and Electrical systems.
  • Sound knowledge of engineering and project management techniques, processes and tools, including ACAD, MS Project and all Microsoft Office products.
  • Current P. Eng. Or Certified Technologist valid in Canada.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach working with customers, consultants and sub-contractors.
