The company is seeking an experienced Human Resource Professional to assist the Director of Human Resources in various aspects of the corporate Human Resources function, including recruitment and retention, employment law compliance, benefits administration, employee/labor relations, and the administration and development of internal Human Resource policies and programs for this 500 plus employee organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE -

  • A bachelor?s degree in Human Resource Management
  • Professional Certification in Human Resources is preferred
  • 7+ years of Human Resource Manager/Generalist experience within the private sector is necessary.
  • Performing employee recruitment efforts to fill job vacancies at various skill levels and functions within the organization utilizing a variety of sourcing techniques, as well as the development of best-practice employee retention policies in order to reduce turnover
  • Incorporating well-developed written/verbal communication skills to respond to various government agency inquiries and agency complaints or charges as well as the development of internal employee communications and announcements
  • Utilizing conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills in order to resolve various employee and labor relations issues involving peer to peer and management - subordinate conflicts including job performance matters
  • Applying a thorough knowledge and understanding of various federal, state and local employment regulations and statutes to ensure the organization?s regulatory compliance with employment law
  • Assisting in the administration and design of the company?s various benefit, entitlement, and insurance programs and conducting orientation and onboarding efforts for new employees
  • Promoting and enhancing a corporate culture of engagement regarding human capital management in order to increase job satisfaction and performance

RELATED AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE -

  • Experience and knowledge utilizing HRIS and payroll processing systems
  • Understanding the nature of collective bargaining agreements and knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act
  • Familiarity with NYS Worker?s Compensation and OSHA General Duty regulations regarding workplace safety
  • Knowledge of group insurance and defined contribution plans
