Responsibilities

  • Manages and administers benefit to ensure that benefit programs support the organizations strategic objectives.
  • Analyzes the competitiveness and cost effectiveness of the benefit programs.
  • Provides direction and communication to the company on benefit-related issues such as medical, dental, vision, retirement, 401(k), ACA, ADA, FMLA, and workers compensation.
  • Manages the FMLA, STD and other leave process in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains relationships with key vendors.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • Assists in investigations and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues.
  • Reviews and makes improvement of policies, procedures and practices.
  • Administer onboarding including company orientation and monitoring compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or Human Resources or a related area of study.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience of HR Generalist experience specifically Benefits Administration, Compliance Adherence, Employee Relations and Onboarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR Generalist responsibilities to include customer service skills, critical thinking skills, analytical thinking and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations including ERISA, ACA, ADA, FMLA.
  • Possesses the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Exercises independent judgment and applies in-depth knowledge and expertise to solve complex/technical problems across work groups; accountable for developing and recommending solutions.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by encouraging integrity and ethical behavior; supports business goals, change initiatives, and development through coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrates accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence. Effectively manages own time to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and listening skills; possesses the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization and professionally to small or large groups.
  • Proficient in using multiple software programs and web-based applications such as e-mail, Microsoft Office Suite products, internet browsers, and HRIS systems; specifically UltiPro is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of payroll specifically benefit related earnings and deductions.
