Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned Global Exhibitions housing team
  • Manage up to 3-5 events
  • Primary point of contact for global synergy opportunities on assigned team events
  • Work closely and develop strategic relationships with housing vendors & hotel partners
  • Work closely with housing vendor and Group Director on escalated hotel contract negotiations.
  • Track team rebate and commission performance; provide budget and forecast guidance
  • Manage overall process of team; standardized reporting, contracttemplates, and sourcing procedures
  • Onboard acquisitions and assign to appropriate housing manager on team based on needs and work capacity
  • Manage accuracy and timeliness of centralized sourcing/buying power data on assigned team events

On Defined Events

  • Oversee the set-up of online housing with vendors; assist marketing on maintaining housing information on event websites & email communication
  • Work with the housing vendor to maximize room block pickup, hotel cut-off date extensions, reduce slippage, and avoid attrition
  • Manage all aspects of staff room blocks with vendor: room types, number of rooms blocked, arrival/departure patterns, upgrades, VIPs, audit process, confirmation letters to onsite assistance
  • Analyze reports from contracted hotels and recommend adjustments to contracted room blocks with vendor
  • Present Market Leaders with recommended hotel blocks for repeat events in the same location and new events sourcing multiple cities
  • Responsible for creating budget forecasts with show team and managing events within assigned budget performance to maximize revenue
  • Establish master accounts at event hotels; reconcile hotel bills; and report final revenue on commission and rebate payments
  • Analyze hotel performance at the conclusion of event and make recommendations for future years

Required Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years Event Housing, Hotel Sales, Hotel Revenue, Convention Services program management
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
  • Excellent project management skills – organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to coordinate multiple resources, and ability to develop action lists with deadlines and priorities
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong time management and budgeting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite
  • Exceptional people and collaboration skills – must be able to interact successfully with all levels of the company as well as represent Informa with our hotel partners and housing vendors.
