Job Description

SUMMARY Albemarle is looking for talent to help build a world-class specialty chemical Integrated Business Operations (IBO) organization. The Senior IBO PMO Manager leads the development of global resources, structure and programs to standardize project-related governance processes as a strategic partner for the IBO to drive direct value and innovation by effective integration of a project and change management culture. This leader will supervise a team of employees globally to support the framework to generate maximum value and sustainable change through collaborative delivery of strategic objectives. This role reports to the Director, PMO Governance within the Integrated Business Operations organization and is governed by policies and frameworks established by Albemarle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Define resources and infrastructure to build and lead a global project management team that continuously challenges itself to support and deliver sustainable projects to support the IBO organizational accountability for efficient and reliable services to support GBU growth
  • Coach to guide global team members to build and manage employee capacity, support professional development, review and assess performance, and enable employees to maximize their contribution
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement to drive productivity, eliminate non-value added services and control costs. Ongoing challenge to status quo of systems and organizations to discover and deliver improvement to elevate service and performance
  • Initiative to show others how to do things - - strong interest in and desire to teach others within own department as well as across functional teams to develop next generation of leaders
  • Role model – embodies vision of IBO through leadership, influence, and achievements to provide the right services at the right time, with the right skillset at the right cost
  • Fosters environment recognized for priority and commitment to meeting expectations and requirements of partners
  • Change Agent - - Continuously engage by driving change including effective definition and measurement of success to ensure adoption
  • Project Management Execution - - effectively manage team with measures and standards that consistently ensure milestones/timelines/budgets are met, projects are executed to success criteria, and stated benefits are realized

Functional

  • Complex, Global Project Management – Experienced leader with reputation for successful management and execution to achieve deliverables for strategic and global initiatives within and beyond function. Capable navigation through detailed project plans, obstacles, change, and expectation management with leadership
  • Establish, Implement, Assess, and continuously improve system and organization for IBO Project Portfolio including templates, procedures, and leadership cadences to ensure sustainable process to continuously monitor standards, ownership, and updates to content; Maintain dynamic process and training documentation
  • Champion Change Management culture across IBO organization; Work with functions and users on training and use; Coordinate process enhancements to ensure tool and processes remain robust and aligned to changing business processes; Contribute to the development of change management standards; Develop metrics and reporting protocols to monitor/audit use and effectiveness
  • Develop and lead system(s) to coordinate IBO Project Portfolio including ideation and prioritization; Administer and maintain central repository for documentation and collaboration
  • Oversee development and delivery of training for IBO personnel as relates to project management standards
  • Publish performance metrics tracking IBO compliance to key objectives; Data analysis for follow up with corrective actions to ensure process and performance improvements effected and sustained
  • Lead alignment with other Corporate PMO leaders to drive best practices and platforms for collaboration and advancement of Project and Change Management culture beyond the borders of IBO

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial/business/technical/supply chain area
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in a project management role supporting corporate function initiatives
  • 7 or more years Management experience
