As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team, you will help shape the standards and processes used to operate and launch all Blue Origin vehicles. Additionally, you will train to become certified in a launch operations leadership role. As a member of the Flight Operations team, you will have a shared responsibility for establishing and maintaining a culture of high operational excellence, and to assure operational lessons and best practices are institutionalized and shared across programs. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


  • Assist in generation, refinement, and implementation of company-wide standards and processes used to operate and launch Blue Origin vehicles
  • Begin Blue’s Flight Director candidate training program
  • Perform a lead role in conduct of Blue Origin launch operations
  • Maintain high standards for crew members and cultivate a culture that emphasizes safety and operational excellence


  • B.S. degree in engineering or physics
  • 8+ years of relevant experience as a member of a mature and professional operations team performing dynamic, high consequence operations
  • 3+ years of relevant experience leading teams in the disciplined conduct of dynamic, high consequence operations
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Requirements development experience and strong technical writing skills
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to learn
  • Skills,experience, and ability to perform a lead role (e.g. Flight Director) in launch operations
    • Strong leadership skills

    • Very high judgement and ability perform duties in high pressure situations
  • Experience leading, mentoring and managing a small team in challenging, fast paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


  • Knowledge of liquid launch vehicle design and operations
  • Experience as a Flight Director in the conduct of launch vehicle mission operations
  • Experience as a Test Director in the conduct of crewed aircraft envelope expansion operations
  • Experience with Crew Resource Management techniques and Mission Assurance processe
