National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT) is designed to serve as an innovative platform to revolutionize and catalyze the conduct of clinical trials-greatly accelerating the translation of scientific findings into improvements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease for our communities and patients. The NCCT will offer core services for patient recruitment and enrollment, trial administration and follow-up, and to gather real world data and evidence.
The
Clinical Trial Methods Center (CTMC) has been established within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) to provide the necessary tools and expertise that the NCCT will access and apply to deliver many of its core services.
The Senior Financial Analyst position will be part of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and will report to Clinical Research and Finance leadership within the School of Medicine. This position will serve an important role in leading CTMC financial planning, analysis and reporting to leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Lead Clinical Trial Methods Center (CTMC) financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Maintain CTMC financial models to support strategic decision-making and performance tracking.
- Process all approved expenses and all approved faculty and staff effort allocations that are assigned to the CTMC Cost Center.
- Submits and coordinates all approved research CTMC Academic Resource capital requests.
- Provide detailed CTMC financial reporting and insights to senior leadership, enabling data-driven business decisions.
- Ensures that CTMC costs are in alignment with the expected Return on Investment (ROI).
- Partner with CTMC leadership to assess financial performance, recommend improvements, and drive cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with NCCT Finance [NewCo] to coordinate Funds Flow and integrate financial analysis into operational and strategic planning.
- Support the monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Establishes the cost structure for all CTMC services.
- Monitor and evaluate CTMC financial performance against industry benchmarks and Fair Market Value standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure best practices.
- Financial Point of Contact (PoC) for key partnerships. Receives invoices from key partners for work performed; ensures the timely review of invoiced work and the timely distribution of payments to those key partners.
- Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, M.B.A. preferred. 3-5 + years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSStrong experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling. Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience. Working knowledge of financial strategies. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP, Oracle, or related financial systems.
Hybrid Position - Candidates must be on-site in Winston-Salem, NC at least 3 days a week.
