Summary:

Job Details:

The Senior Financial Analyst supports internal clients in the area of sales commissions and financial planning by providing financial analysis and modeling expertise as it relates to financial statements, key metrics, budgeting and forecasting.   The Senior Financial Analyst will help predict and track financial information and directly influence Global Payments’ performance as a company.

Essential Responsibilities:

•    Maintain a SQL model to support the calculation of monthly and other periodic commissions
•    Assist in the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
•    Assist in performing monthly analysis to explain actual/forecast variances
•    Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting 
•    Provide quality analytical information to internal customers  related to the financial and operational performance of their business units, helping to identify underlying business issues and provide input to operational decisions
•    Interact with various senior managers for ad-hoc projects
•    Develop business cases for various initiatives and/or new products
•    Assist internal customers by proactively monitoring and analyzing current and long-term performance trends of individual business units
•    Establish and maintain systems to analyze and report key performance metrics to aid management in the identification of improvement opportunities and internal best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent financial modeling skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, with excellent planning and organizational skills to provide accurate, fact-based analysis in a timely manner
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, Oracle Financial and SQL database
  • Ability to investigate and assess issues to make certain the correct solution is implemented 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with ability to effectively communicate financial information to senior management
  • Willingness to take ownership for work and to continuously improve performance
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures as well as internal departmental procedures to ensure consistency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Accounting designation (CPA) and/or MBA with focus in finance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building and maintaining Commissions calculation models
  • Experience in using SQL queries and views
  • Prior experience in payment processing industry
