Senior Financial Analyst

Individual will assist in the development, financial modeling, internal management and reporting of financial results against the Eversource corporate operating plan. The corporate operating plan is developed to support our mission of delivering reliable energy and superior customer service, as well as our corporate goals.

The financial modeling starts with the initial development of assumptions based on inputs from key stakeholders and analytical trends and concludes with the annual presentation of the operating plan to Senior Management and the Board of Trustees for approval.

The scope of the corporate operating plan includes the development of key financial statements (income statements, balance sheets and cash flows) and key performance metrics for not only all of the Eversource operating companies but also the consolidated company.

Internal management includes monthly updates to original plan assumptions and the development of a reforecast based on ever changing economic and business conditions. Internal management and reporting also involves the contribution to a comprehensive monthly reporting package to Senior Management, as well as communication of key financial results to the Board of Trustees and updates to other stakeholders in the company.

This role will give the individual exposure to financial aspects of the electric and gas businesses, including business area specific items, as well as the impact to the consolidated company.

The individual will also support ad-hoc projects as required.

On call Storm Duty assignment as necessary.


A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least eight years of experience required.

MBA and/or CPA is preferred.

An understanding of GAAP, accounting, financial reporting and regulatory rules with the ability to apply this knowledge to detailed analyses and financial model management.

The selected candidate must have intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, strong oral and written communications skills to effectively work with multiple levels of management, strong leadership skills, the ability to foster teamwork and a desire to learn new and efficient ways of accomplishing work assignments. Individual must also have a familiarity with accounting and reporting systems (such as PowerPlan, Cognos/TM1) and a demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Suite of applications (particularly advanced Excel functions, Word and PowerPoint). This position requires the use of advanced finance and accounting techniques. Work is characterized by many complex features, which require creative insights into financial, business or economic situations.
