While reporting to the Senior Director, Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for meeting organizational reporting needs by analyzing financial and non-financial data across multiple services lines, including hospice, home health, palliative care, memory care, and private duty care and reconciling such data across multiple sources. Specifically, this position assists with reporting financial and statistical data related to all aspects of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and provides recommendations to organizational business units based on the outcomes of data analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst will also assist with contract maintenance and negotiations, the annual budget process, and reporting with regularity bodies.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in the area of Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Master’s Degree in related field preferred. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in the area of healthcare finance required. Must have the ability to analyze and interpret data and translate into useful management information. Must possess proven skills related to data analysis and review within a healthcare organization.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Perform monthly reconciliations of data across multiple service lines and multiple data sources to arrive to statistical and financial information that is representative of organizational operations.
Analyze statistical data that corresponds with monthly financial outcomes to produce monthly reports and provide recommendations based on analysis.
Assist as needed with monthly reporting for the Revenue Cycle Department and related revenue cycle functional areas including revenue recognition, accounts receivable reconciliation, cash flow reporting for billing and collections, month-end close procedures, as well as completion of financial reports and other financial analyses.
Assist with integration of EMR systems, development and implementation of data reporting processes of EMR systems, and EMR implementation as it relates to reporting of statistical and financial data.
Assist with the maintenance, negotiation, and implementation of third-party payer contracts.
Assist with the preparation and review of Prospective Interim Payment (PIP) reports.
Assist with the preparation of cap reports for Medicare to ensure we are within both the in-patient limitation cap and the Medicare payment cap.
Assist in preparation of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports.
Asist in preparation other regulatory reporting or ad hoc reporting as needed.
Assist with the annual budget process for all business units.
Assist with required analysis or implementation of special projects.
Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Director, Finance.
Comply with all Covenant Organizational Policies, Procedures and Personnel
Policies, including those specifically addressing disaster preparedness and response.
Special Demands/Physical Requirements:
This position is mentally demanding in that the incumbent must be able to retain and assimilate significant amounts of information, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and analyze data to make recommendations to staff as well as managers. Position may sometimes require medium to heavy lifting. Normally, such lifting will include, but not be limited to, the lifting of boxes, books, various office supplies and small equipment items. Such lifting should not normally exceed the range of 50-75 pounds. This position requires a minimal amount of time traveling in a motor vehicle in connection with performing the essential functions of the position.
