Full Job Description
As the Senior Manager, Finance PSO, you are a strategic leader and the primary architect of PagerDuty's finance technology roadmap. You don't just manage systems; you drive the vision for how Finance operates. You bridge the gap between long-term business strategy and technical execution, leading high-impact digital transformation initiatives that define our future state. You are a visionary player-coach, capable of leading complex, global cross-functional teams while maintaining a deep technical "seat at the table" to ensure execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Roadmap & Vision: Define and implement the long-term technology and process strategy for the Finance organization. Align team goals with corporate objectives and ensure the finance tech stack (NetSuite, Coupa, Anaplan, etc.) evolves ahead of business complexity.
• Transformation Leadership: Lead large-scale, high-impact global initiatives from conception to completion. You are responsible for identifying the "Big Picture" pros and cons of potential actions and advising senior leadership on the best path forward. Meaningfully assesses people, systems and processes to ensure they scale.
• Digital Innovation (RPA, AI, & ML): Act as the executive champion for automation. Scale the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Applied AI to move the organization toward "Zero-Touch" finance operations, focusing on predictive insights and anomaly detection.
• Organizational Influence: Act as a trusted advisor to the Finance Department and other Senior Leaders. You are expected to lead by influence laterally and vertically, often questioning assumptions and proposing bold change initiatives that result in positive organizational outcomes.
• Operational Excellence & Compliance: Proactively seek out efficiencies across the larger finance organization. Determine solutions for recurring global problems and implement scalable, SOX-compliant controls that mitigate risk through automation.
About You
• Strategic & Analytical Thinker: You look beyond the immediate task to understand the "Big Picture." You factor nuance, external market trends, and internal metrics into every analysis and recommendation. You distill complex analyses into understandable output for those not as close to the details.
• Change Catalyst: You are a role model for seizing opportunities to influence future direction. You formulate and propose change initiatives that impact not just your team, but the entire Finance organization.
• Effective Communicator: You excel at "Technical Translation," clearly articulating trade-offs, consequences, and scenarios to executive stakeholders in non-finance speak. You are a "systems expert" with "deep process understanding" to align with IT and Finance teams.
• Results-Oriented: You create an environment focused on results rather than activity. You hold yourself and others accountable for surpassing expectations and driving ROI on technology investments.
Basic Qualifications
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in Finance Operations, Financial Systems, or Business Transformation, with a proven track record of leading end-to-end global projects.
• Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated experience influencing Senior Leadership Teams (SLT) and managing complex, cross-functional RACI stakeholders.
• Communication: Expert ability to present complex scenarios and strategic plans to an executive audience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of the PagerDuty stack (NetSuite, Coupa, Anaplan, Workday) and experience leading system re-implementations or major integrations.
• Automation Architecture: Deep experience with RPA/Workato and implementing AI/Machine Learning use cases within a Finance context.
• Data Visualization: Mastery of data storytelling using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, MIS, or a related field.
• Industry: Deep experience in the SaaS or high-growth technology sector.
