Maxim's Quality Organization  is seeking an experienced Failure Analyst to help us understand and solve the root causes of customer returns  as well as support qualification and new product introduction activities at Maxim Integrated Products’ worldwide headquarters in San Jose, CA.

Main Activities:

    Support and respond  to internal and external customer requests for analyses of Maxim products.

    Meet Maxim’s failure analysis cycle time and quality commiments

    Provide periodic updates  on your analyses       

Minimum Qualifications     

    Engineering, Physics, or Science  BS degree with semiconductor emphasis.  Advance degrees preferred

    5+ years of experience in Failure Analysis, Product Engineering, or Design

    Strong technical understanding of how a diode and transistor work

    Good English oral and written communication skills

    Ability to use a curve tracer and optical microscope

    Experience operating FA equipment, SEM, FIB, X-Ray, etc.

    Good troubleshooting skills

    Ability to read schematics

    Experience reading or creating GDSII files

    Fab and/or assembly process experience a plus

    Chemistry lab experience is a plus

    Direct hands on experience with Maxim products is a plus

    Sample cross-sectioning skills  are a plus

    Experience working with BGA packages is a plus

    Analog circuitry and mixed signal skills are a plus
