Your Opportunity

Stantec's Fresno, CA office is hiring a Senior level environmental professional ( environmental scientist, engineer or geologist ) as a project manager/senior staff to coordinate and perform environmental site investigations, including soil, soil vapor, groundwater; coordinate and oversee remediation programs; oversee monitoring and maintenance of remedial systems; assist with environmental compliance and permitting; and assist with preparation of proposals and business development. Perform Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments. Manage field and office personnel.

Your Key Responsibilities

Duties may include handling day to day tasks such as:

  • ProjectManagement, staff oversight, and health andsafety environmental consulting services
  • Strong understanding of state and federalenvironmental and safety regulations
  • Clientmanagement services for existing clients; sales of additional Stantecservices to existing and new clients
  • Coordinating withsubcontractors
  • Performing taskmanagement for sites undergoing assessment and/or active remediation
  • Some field work maybe required, including groundwater sampling, drilling, soil logging,sample collection, and construction oversight
  • Abilityto travel for field work, if needed
  • Ability to analyze information and data and developappropriate conclusions required.
  • Candidatemust have excellent communication and organizational skills, combined withthe ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, challenging, and fastpaced environment
  • Strong technical writing, interpersonal,and communication skills required

Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

The desired candidate will demonstrate strict adherence to health and safety procedures and attention to detail; have an outstanding work ethic and a passion for high quality workmanship.

Expert level understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.

Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.

Ability to manage technical aspects of multiple projects/task orders simultaneously.

Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.

Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

Thorough understanding of engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.

Provides technical leadership on moderate-scale projects that are part of a larger program with significant capital budgets.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor or Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or Geology, and 8-10 years of experience

Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred

Must have a good driving record and valid driver's license.

Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful completion of a physical and drug screen .

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Water Resources or Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • 8 years of experience
