Key Accountabilities:

 

As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you are responsible for design, deployment, oversight and coordination for the operation of all enterprise infrastructure across Scotiabank. You develop and implement roadmaps, strategic and operational plans which align with the overall organization’s objectives.  You lead the portfolio architecture of Wealth management pillar to ensure the alignment of the portfolio to the enterprise architecture strategy and
technology standards.

One of your main goal is to achieve benefits such as enterprise-wide interoperability with appropriate focus on enterprise scalability, risk mitigation and reuse of infrastructure service.

Among other things, you will:

• Help solution architects for providing solution architecture for the portfolio initiatives align with EA domain architecture guidelines, reference architecture and standards
• Lead the design and deployment of new enterprise solutions
• Develop the technology roadmap and ensure that Scotiabank maximizes the value received from its infrastructure technology investments
• Establish and maintain standards for Infrastructure and ensure alignment to Scotiabank strategic road maps
• Research, plan, define and support enterprise infrastructure architecture
• Proactively work to progress the architecture and overall design of the Bank’s Information Systems as a corporate asset in supporting the Bank’s business objectives.
• Have a high degree of focus on the end to end architecture to ensure that customer’s needs are consistently met
• Ensure all components will interoperate and provide the infrastructure to support future strategic initiatives

 

Skills:

 

We are looking for an architect who:
• Is eager to redesign the technology map, driving the adoption of new/revamped solutions 
• Has exceptional emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills)
• Has an appetite to continuously evolve and improve, to tackle difficult problems and seeks/gives constant feedback
• Embraces change and sees it as an essential driver to solve complex issues
• Excellent facilitation skills in leading teams in the adoption and improvement of enterprise solutions
• 10+ years of Technical Consulting experience, nice to have Financial / Banking Sector.
• Strong driver of new and emerging technologies
• Proven leadership in technology architecture and roadmap development, as well as execution of major projects
• Highly skilled and knowledgeable in complex technology environments (e.g., infrastructure, network, telecommunications)
• Strong IT technology experience in high-volume, complex, customer-oriented IT environment
• Good understanding of infrastructure services and complexity of a large global financial organization
• Good understanding of banking business applications and wealth management business application
• An excellent communicator - both written and verbal
• Innovative - Ability to see how future technologies can be applied to help drive business objectives
• Ability to influence and collaborate with teams of senior technical professionals

 

Education and other Requirements:

 

You have extensive knowledge of the following technologies/domains:
 • Web application technologies Front end/back end/client side aggregation
 • Mobile application technologies
 • Agile methodologies
 • Rules Engines
 • Internet distribution, e:commerce or other Web experience
 • Specific experience with Windows , AIX, or MQ Series
 • MS Windows, MS Office experience
 • Client/server platforms
 • BPM tools, specifically Pega
 • Java/J2EE
 • Mulesoft Anypoint
 • API management (APIM)
 • Microservices Architecture
 •  WebSphere Application Server
 •  SOA

Proficiency in Business Value Mapping and Business Architecture and familiar with BIAN
TOGAF/Archimate
Design/Modeling/UML
Conceptual/Logical/Solution Architecture
