This Senior Engineer position for the Amgen Integrated Service Provider program will assist with overseeing the Integrated Facility Management (IFM) program, focusing on monitoring execution by service providers and ensuring they meet Amgen’s expectations. The Senior Engineer will drive performance of service provider teams and interact across diverse ARI functional areas and IFM groups to achieve site objectives.

The Senior Engineer will partner with and support hard and soft service provider programs aimed at supporting Amgen site operations and client relationships. The role will work with all IFM service providers (JLL, Wolseley, Compass), and their respective programs, including Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO), Work Order Administration (WOA), cGMP sanitization, janitorial, pest control, waste recycling, building maintenance, vehicle and mobile equipment maintenance, Food Services, landscaping, etc.

The Senior Engineer’s responsibilities will include NC ownership, equipment/system ownership, project and resource planning, budgeting, schedule and risk management, cross-functional communication, tracking of program metrics, as well as oversight of critical IFM projects and daily activities.

This role also involves organizational development activities within the IFM, such as development and delivery of training, implementation of Lean/operational excellence initiatives, and creation and roll-out of innovative management tools.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • OR
  • Master’s degree and 3 years of Engineering or Facility experience
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Engineering or Facility experience
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Engineering or Facility experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering or Facility experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Life Sciences background/degree
  • Minimum 5 years facility service management experience
    Minimum 5 years’ experience in biotech or cGMP manufacturing processes
  • Strong ownership/commitment
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and motivational skills
    Operational excellence experience, including innovation and continuous improvement
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience with cross-functional teams, preferably in a leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to forge and maintain strong relationships within functional areas
  • Knowledge of building and fire codes
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively negotiate and influence
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility, proactivity, and willingness to learn new things
  • Team player, self-starter, and motivated capable of growth and increased responsibility
