Job Description

Arcadis is seeking an ambitious, hardworking, dependable Engineer to join our world-class firm in Lenexa, Kansas. This senior level full-time position will be involved in various activities which support a diverse portfolio of environmental, assessment and restoration projects.

This position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.

The desired candidate will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Applicants should be solution oriented and have independent critical thinking skills to work as a productive member of high-performance teams.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement remediation solutions (e.g., ERD, SVE, air sparge, pump and treat)
  • Lead or support the preparation of technical work plans and reports
  • Compilation, analysis, and interpretation of geological and technical investigation findings
  • Lead or support proposal efforts for various investigation, remediation or industrial projects for a variety of clients
  • Exhibit independent thinking skills and able to work successfully with minimal daily supervision
  • Work effectively with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Present work plans and report findings to client and regulatory stakeholders
  • Mentor the development of junior engineering staff
  • Health and safety focused. Able to comply and steward Arcadis and client H&S requirements.


The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be self-motivated, exhibit independent thinking skills, and be able to work successfully in a team setting as well as independently. This position encompasses primarily office work (data analysis, work plan and report preparation, task management, and data analysis) as well as some field work oversight and travel for stakeholder meetings and field event oversight.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related degree
  • Professional engineer in Kansas and/or Missouri
  • 10+ years related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Relevant work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience
  • Professional engineer (or ability to obtain licensure) in Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and/or Oklahoma
  • Masters in Environmental Engineering or related degree
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory experience
