Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer located at our Deer Valley facility in Phoenix, AZ. The selected candidate for this position will support the Electronic Hardware (EH) group in the Electronics Solutions organization. This position provides you the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the most talented engineers and technical experts in our engineering organization.

  • Design digital and/or analog interface circuits for airborne control applications.
  • Collaborate with analog, power supply, EMC, systems, and software designers to produce complete circuit board and multi-board designs
  • Work semi-independently and as a team member to translate hardware requirements into finished circuit designs.
  • Perform trade studies and research best concepts to implement solutions to requirements at a block diagram level.
  • Convert block diagrams into circuit topologies suitable to meet electrical, environmental and functional requirements.
  • Determine components and components values required to meet electrical, environmental and functional requirements using selected topologies.
  • Supervise layout and fabrication activities for their circuits to ensure success.
  • Supervise technicians, and when necessary perform design assurance testing to verify compliance of designs to specifications.
  • Perform failure investigations and implement solutions to solve qualification and production hardware failures.
  • Participate in cross functional teams (mechanical and manufacturing engineering, production planning, procurement, etc.)
  • Analyze circuits and solve difficult problems with little supervision.
  • Adhere to all applicable engineering processes and encourage others to do so.
  • Utilize Six-Sigma tools as appropriate to maximize product quality and design efficiency.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in product design, designing electronic circuits and participating in design reviews
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to export control laws


  • Use contemporary oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Experience designing to meet DO-160
  • Exposure to DO-254 methodology
  • Experience with signal integrity simulation/analysis tools
  • Exposure to power integrity concepts and design methods
  • Ability to understand functional and timing operation of PALs, CPLDS, and FPGAs by reading their hardware design files
  • Proficiency with some schematic capture tool
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Design DxD for schematic capture.
  • Experience in the requirements, design, layout and checkout phases of the circuit board design cycle
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Basic lab skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical briefings to diverse customer and internal senior management audiences. Prepare and present design review briefings, and be proficient in professional technical writing
  • Ability to meet commitments, oversee multiple tasks and manage priorities to deliver results that meet, and often exceed, expectations on time, every time
  • Demonstrated commitment to participate in and support successful teams
