We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Houston, TX or New Iberia, LA. This person will be responsible for providing internal and external electrical engineering support to estimate, design, retrofit, test, commission, start up, and ensure safety of electrical equipment and systems.

We’re Experts. You’ll have the following experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited (e.g. ABET) college or university.
10+ years of relevant work experience with transformers, motors and other rotating machines, switchgear, protective relays, PLCs, etc.
PE license preferred
Power system modelling and analysis experience (e.g. ETAP, SKM, Aspen, PowerFactory, PSS/E)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to persuade using logical arguments
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with high level of accuracy and precision
Understanding of engineering economics, estimating, budgeting, and basic financial principles
Broad knowledge of relevant industry-consensus codes and standards from NFPA, IEEE, and UL
Ability to lead teams of technical, operational, and sales personnel and provide mentoring to usher in the next generation of expert people
PC literacy in a Microsoft environment

Design safe, reliable, economical, and efficient electrical power generation and distribution systems that fit our clients’ needs.
Help the sales team secure contracts by visiting client project sites, giving technical sales presentations, analyzing the clients’ needs, problems, or RFPs, and crafting creative cost-effective solutions using our fleet of rental equipment assets.
Manage the design and assist with procurement of new power generation and distribution equipment, including creating conceptual layouts, schematics, and bills of material, and review and provide feedback for upgrades and other products including electric air compressors, chillers, and cooling towers.
Provide technical support to technicians and customers by phone and in person at Aggreko’s service centers and job sites.
Help to install and commission systems, including but not limited to pulling and terminating power cables, performing insulation resistance and turns ratio testing of transformers, determining protective relay settings, and troubleshooting switchgear, automatic voltage regulators, variable frequency drives, motor starters, and PLCs.
Review, provide comments, and approve engineering deliverables produced by your colleagues.
Perform light drafting duties using AutoCAD to create and modify single-line diagrams, location plans, grounding plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Think outside the box to create new equipment designs and to create new and more efficient applications utilizing existing hardware.
Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
Inspect equipment and systems for electrical code and safety deficiencies.
Continue to learn advanced engineering practices and keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry consensus standards.
Use computer engineering and design software (ETAP) to perform engineering studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protective device selection and coordination, motor starting, transient stability, arc-flash, and grounding electrode systems.
Travel 25% of the time, be able to travel to other US states, Canada, Mexico, and some Caribbean islands, and be involved with projects in a variety of settings, including refineries, chemical plants, utility substations, construction sites, mines, automotive factories, rock concerts, yacht shows, golf tournaments, and fossil fuel, nuclear, wind, and PV power stations.
