Description

The Senior NOC Engineer works with limited direct supervision and guidance of the NOC shift manager. This position requires the ability to be a key stakeholder in incident response, troubleshooting, network planning and procedures development. The Senior NOC

Engineer is responsible for system network and design expertise, for conducting high level systems analysis, planning and coordinating installations and deployments. Responsibilities also include ensuring backup and recovery systems are operational, and for identifying problem areas including but not limited to network, infrastructure and servers. The Senior NOC Engineer will identify ways to enhance and improve existing systems, determine cost benefits and recommend solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
• Required certification: 103 Microsoft Azure Administrator,
• Expert understanding of LAN (Layer 2), WAN (Layer 3) networking protocols and technologies including switching, routing and security
• Expert understanding of client/server architecture
• Strong working knowledge of SIEM tuning and log correlation
• Strong working experience in network and security auditing
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create a formatted document or spreadsheet
• Technical aptitude with ability to manage tickets using ServiceNow, Cherwell and Jira
• Experience in performance diagnostics, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, and performance monitoring
• Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities
• Analytical with ability to draw conclusions from data (systematic and rational)
• Interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization
• Conceptual with ability to conceive mentally, formulate ideas, use imagination to achieve results
• Detail oriented with item by item focus, meticulous attention to detail with ability to proofread for accuracy
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients at all levels
• In depth knowledge of IT industry with specific focus on Managed Network and Security Service offerings
