The Sr. Network Engineer’s role is to maintain data and voice networks to provide maximum performance and availability, minimizing the down time.  The Sr. Network Engineer will work closely with the Systems Engineers and Engineers to promptly resolve any issues. The Sr. Network Engineer also plays a key role in developing and maintaining the high availability and disaster recovery plan for the corporation as well as documenting all segments of the network. This position will require an independent thinker as well as a candidate who can provide direction to other Network Engineers.


  • Maintain data and voice networks to provide maximum performance and availability minimizing the down time
  • Designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WAN, Wireless and VoIP infrastructures at all branches
  • Work on various network hardware/software such as Cisco routers/switches, Cisco/Checkpoint firewalls, F5 load balancers and DNS, UNIX servers/appliances
  • Assists on validation and aid in delivering solutions to business user
  • Stand out among their peers as being an Associate that others turn to for help.
  • Has technical aptitude and desire to mentor other team members
  • Fully aware of the operating procedures and best practices under which SGA family of companies operates.
  • Encourages healthy conflict
  • Proactively makes recommendations to leadership and takes action
  • Be a spokesperson to help reinforce the messages from leadership

  • Desire to understand the root cause of failures.  Not just happy with fixing a system but pushing through to the root cause and resolving it there
  • Understand why the work assigned to IT is being done and why it is important. Ensures others on the team share this understanding
  • Manage and maintain SDWAN technology
  • Update and maintain all documentation/diagrams for the environment
  • Provide technical support to users and system Engineer
  • Administer day-to-day operation of networks
  • Follow LAN/WAN maintenance and management procedures
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to clients and staff
  • Read, interpret and apply technical instructions
  • Keep current by reading, interpreting, and applying information on technological changes and updates
  • Prepare clear and concise written communications
  • Research technical manuals and guides to respond to user questions
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school, or college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science; Four to Eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Cisco, F5, Avaya, checkpoint certification is a plus
  • Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems including Windows and *nix Operating systems
  • 5+ years of troubleshooting WAN/LAN environment including managing large Wireless network (Extreme/Symbol/Zebra/Motorola)
  • 3+ years of system administration experience in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory network environment
  • Experience with Cisco ACI, Nexus, OTV, VxLAN, Skype for Business, Microsoft Azure, Cisco VPN and MA Direct Access
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and protocols such as DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, SHRP, VRRP etc.
  • Expert experience with high availability solutions
  • Develop, document and implement disaster recovery strategy
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Expert knowledge of local area network administration
  • Ability to troubleshoot WAN outages and keep the users updated as required
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Successful at initiating and completing projects
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • After hours On Call support and some travel are required.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
