This position will be working from Data Centers in Ashburn, VA and Baltimore, MD as needed. This is a full time-permanent (salaried) position.



  • The candidate should possess experience in Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Trusted Internet Connection (TIC), network virtual switching, load balancing, and WANacceleration design and implementation using Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo-Alto;
  • Able to configure Cisco routers/switches, F5 Global and Local Traffic Managers, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k, 4500x, Cisco Wireless and Cisco 6509;
  • Resolve incidents, problems, and change requests in accordance with service-level agreements (SLA’s) and permitted maintenance windows;
  • Monitor ticket queues during normal business hours;
  • Partake in an after-hours and holiday on-call rotation withotherinfrastructure engineers;
  • Develop professional diagrams and illustrations with software such as Visio, OmniGraffle, and Dia;
  • Supplement existing documentation to reflect all new changes to an environment;
  • Correct errors and deficiencies and continuously expand product proficiency/product diversity;
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds;
  • This position will be working from Data Centers in Ashburn, VA and Baltimore, MD as needed including after hours and weekends


  • Bachelor's degree in related field;
  • Minimum 8+ years data center networkinfrastructureexperience;
  • Possesses a strong background in Cisco router and switch (Catalyst and Nexus) configuration using industry standard networking tools;
  • Proven hands-on networkengineeringexperience;
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS);
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model;
  • Hands-on experiencewith monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools;
  • Strong Knowledge of Nexus switches;
  • Experiencewith Cisco ASA firewall appliances;
  • Experiencewith Firewall and Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) security implementations;
  • Experiencewith F5 Load Balancers;
  • Experiencewith Palo-Alto Firewalls;
  • Ability to work well independently, and in a team environment, to administer and support the overall program;
  • Display good time management skills, independent decision-making capabilities, and a focus on customer service;
  • Have good communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Experiencewith SolarWinds or otherNetwork Management System (NMS);
  • Experience configuring SNMP managed devices;
  • Knowledge of networking SAN/NAS devices;
  • CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued), Security+.


  • Experiencewith process development and deployment;
  • Familiarity with Vcenter/Vsphere design, configuration and deployment;
  • Experiencewith Cross Domain Solution (CDS) implementation;
  • Experiencewith Trusted thin client implementations;
  • Experiencewith System Information Management (SIEM) system integration;
  • Experience implementing Role Based Access Security in a DoD environment;
  • Experiencewith basic WINDOWS and LINUX systems administration functions;
  • Development Experience;
  • SDN Experience.
