Job Description

Sr Director, OTT Strategy

The Sr Director, OTT Strategy will shepherd the process of Condé Nast building its existing, industry-leading video channels into full-blown ad-supported, Over-The-Top (OTT) video destinations. The position will oversee the launch and ongoing operation of Wired, Bon Appétit and GQ on such platforms as Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. It will begin as a contract role, with the potential for converting into a staff position.

The role will set and manage OTT milestones for departments across the company, coordinating the activities of the content, product, sales, marketing, ad operations and analytics teams. The position will work closely with video teams to develop programming, marketing teams to build audience, analytics teams to measure performance, sales teams to develop revenue opportunities and the product and operations teams to manage tech vendors and platform partnerships. They are responsible for tracking and ensuring that the projects meet KPI while staying on budget.

Ideal candidates should have strong organization and communication skills, proven project management skills and previous launch experience in the video space. They need to be adept at moving between the worlds of content, sales and tech. And they should be able to point to previous experiences that demonstrate the skill sets necessary to help Condé Nast build best-in-class OTT channels.


Develop launch plans for each OTT channel to grow audience and revenue
Coordinate functional experts to ensure the successful launch and continued operations of OTT channels
Set cross-departmental timelines and milestones and work to ensure effective implementation
Manage launch budget
Monitor performance against key KPI’s —e.g. session duration, user acquisition cost, churn rate—and organize efforts to adapt and improve
Work with sales teams to build and implement advertising packages
Work with product and operations teams, tech vendors and streaming services to continuously improve the channel experience
Work with programming, strategy and marketing teams to build and retain audience


Previous experience managing a launch in the realms of OTT, TV or digital video
Strong project management, organization and communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple teams to deliver best-in-class results
Strategic thinker capable of translating performance data into actionable insights and move-forward plans.
